First steps in animation

I am very happy that although my course is illustration, we're given a chance to try working with the moving image. The task was to create a twenty second animation each, that will later be put together as a long animated clip to Chopin’s Polonaise in F Sharp Minor, Op 44. We were introduced to different techniques of creating and animation. For my piece I chose stop-motion animation. Inspired by the golden autumn outside I decided to make a fox dancing in the park my animation subject. The whole process required a lot of work and turned out to be extremely time consuming but quite rewarding in the end. Although my animation is quite rough and needs improvement I'm pleased with the result.


First I had to draw all the foxes....


To make the process easier I built an improvised light box with my dad - ShurikLight GT5000






































And finally scanning the drawings, editing them digitally and creating the animation.
