Hybrid

'Hybrid' was the very first project of the third year of my course. It was a collaborative project for all 1-4 year and MA illustration students. We were divided into pairs and given the names of  two different animals. Our task was to join them in one way or another in one piece of art. 

I worked with MA student Shuai Li. Our animals were rat and rummy-nose tetra (a type of fish). Although the name of the project would suggest blending these to into one strange hybrid, we wanted to try to join them in the less obvious way. We came up with the idea of the cat being the link, as something that is both rat's and fish'es nightmare.
